CERAM SOPHIA ANTIPOLIS INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE
Graduate School of Management and Technology
CERAM SOPHIA ANTIPOLIS
2nd TECHNOLOGY AND HRM INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE
"The dual interaction between technology and human resource"
May 19-21, 2003
Sophia Antipolis, France
Special track on nuclear technology & HRM
Background to the session
The global aim of the conference is to explore and discuss how technology and work interact, i.e. how people in organizations are impacted by technology and how they themselves shape technologies so that the latter match their organizational aims. The nuclear technology is a very interesting field of study in that respect:
- It is both a mature technology being applied for civil purposes and especially electricity generation for decades, and still a “high-tech” industry employing a highly qualified manpower;
- Companies of that industry face specific constraints in terms of safety that directly impact HRM;
- The demand for new reactors has decreased in the last two decades with direct effects on employment, but also on the management of competences.
Indications to authors
Papers can deal with any of those themes as well as any other topic related to the interactions between the nuclear technology and HRM. Papers should be around 5000 words. The first page should include: the title of the article, the names and institutions of the authors, with the address of the main author for correspondence. The second page should include an abstract of 150 to 200 words in English and 3 to 5 key words. Articles must be typed with spacing of 1.5 lines. The charts, figures and graphs should be numbered and inserted in the text. Please avoid the use of special styles and footnotes. Bibliographical references should be according to international standards. Selected papers will be bound for special issues of high profile academic journals.
